Specification is one of the most time-consuming and error-prone parts of a designer's job — and the tools haven't kept up.

• Fragmented suppliers. Product information lives across dozens of catalogues, PDFs, emails and phone calls. Finding the right product means hunting across all of them.
• Manual, repetitive work. The same details get re-typed into spreadsheets and documents again and again, by hand.
• No single source of truth. Versions drift between the drawing, the schedule and the supplier quote, and it is easy to lose track of who changed what.
• Slow turnaround. Assembling one coordinated schedule can take a week or two of back-and-forth.
